Air Force 1s run slightly large — but stay true to size
AF1s have a roomy toe box and run about a half size large. Most people stay true to size and love the extra room. If you have narrow feet or hate any extra space, go half a size down. Never go up.
The Nike Air Force 1 has been in production since 1982 and the sizing has remained remarkably consistent. The shoe features a wide toe box and a thick midsole that creates a roomy feel even in your standard size. Here's what you need to know:
Width: AF1s run medium-wide. If you have wide feet this is one of the most comfortable Nike silhouettes. If you have narrow feet, go half a size down or lace them tighter.
Length: True to size for most people. The extra toe box space makes them feel slightly large but the length is accurate.
Low vs High: AF1 Low and High fit identically in terms of length. The High just has extra ankle padding which can feel snug initially but breaks in fast.

AF1 Low
The classic. True to size. Roomy toe box. Go half down only if you have very narrow feet. Most versatile fit in the AF1 lineup.
AF1 High
Same length as Low. The ankle collar is padded and feels snug at first. Break-in period of about 2 weeks. True to size.
AF1 Shadow (Women's)
The Shadow has a slightly longer toe box due to the layered design. Some women go half a size down. Try before buying if possible.
AF1 Flyknit
The Flyknit upper is more form-fitting than leather. Go true to size — the knit conforms to your foot over time.
AF1 Gore-Tex
Designed to fit with thicker socks. True to size but if you wear thin socks exclusively, consider going half down.
AF1 '07 LV8
Standard leather construction same as the original Low. True to size with the same roomy toe box.
vs Nike Dunk Low — Dunks run about half a size small. If you're a size 10 in AF1, try 10 or 10.5 in Dunks.
vs Nike Jordan 1 — Jordan 1s also run slightly large like the AF1. Same size usually works.
vs Nike React / running shoes — Nike running shoes run true to size with a narrower fit. AF1s will feel wider and roomier by comparison.
